A group obstetric model means that outside of regular business hours and during weekends, our obstetricians rotate “on-call” shifts which allows them some much needed rest and time with their own families. This means that if need arises there will always be a dedicated and energised obstetrician available to support you. Furthermore, our obstetricians have chosen to work together as they share a common philosophy of patient-centered care. They approach labour and birth in similar ways and feel confident in each other’s ability to step in and support you as needed. During your pregnancy journey, you are encouraged to meet with the other East obstetricians by having a routine appointment with them instead of your primary obstetrician.
